| Deportation Order | Is an order by the Secretary of State authorising a person to be deported from the UK and barring them from leave to enter the UK again as long as it remains in force. | ||||||
| EEA Member Countries | Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. | ||||||
| Entry clearance | "Entry Clearance" is a Visa or an Entry Certificate issued to a passenger before they travel to the UK. If you have Entry Clearance you will not be refused permission to enter the UK unless there has been a material change in circumstances, or false information was given, or you did not disclose important facts when the entry clearance was obtained. Holders of entry clearances may also be refused on medical grounds , if they have a criminal record , if they are subject to a deportation order ,or if there are any other exceptional reasons why they may not be admitted. | ||||||
| Illegal Entry | Unlawfully entering the UK by deception, or seeking to enter in breach of a deportation order or of the UK's immigration laws. | ||||||
| Overstayer | An overstayer is someone who remains in the United Kingdom beyond the period of the leave they have been granted | ||||||
| Resident Worker | A 'resident worker' is a person who is an EEA national or has settled status in the UK within the meaning of the Immigration Act 1971. | ||||||
| Tier
1 Applications |
This is a special category of specific occupations where the Home Office acknowledge that such suitably qualified people are in scarce supply within the resident UK and EEA workforce, and thus are excluded from advertising requirements. | ||||||

2 Applications |
This is the standard category of occupations which are required to be advertised to the EEA Workforce, prior to any work permit application being considered by the relevant government authority. | ||||||
| Work Permits (UK) | Are based in Sheffield, England, and they administer the Work Permit Scheme on behalf of the UK government. Before 2 April 2001 they were formally known as the (OLS) or Overseas Labour Service. | ||||||
| Visa Nationals | Are Nationalities who need permission (or prior Entry Clearance ) in order to enter the UK. | ||||||
