| Current Work Permits
(UK) policy is that employment agencies who recruit
staff and supply them to companies in need of specific skills
are not normally eligible to apply for work permits. |
|
 |
The company where the work originates is the potential
employer and therefore they should apply for any Work Permit.
Thus, employment agencies who employ workers, but have only
a contract to supply personnel are not normally eligible
to apply for work permits.
Thus, although most recruitment consultancies cannot
apply for UK Work Permits directly on behalf of an employing
company, they CAN help by matching overseas candidates to appropriate
UK employers.
Thus it is NOT possible to get a Work Permit BEFORE
an offer of employment is secured, thus candidates require
the full support of their employing company in order
to submit a valid application.

| Contract
Companies: |
| Companies who are contracted
to carry out work at other organisations, which may involve
work performed at their own premises or at client sites, are
providing a "service" as opposed to personnel only.
As the contractor company has the vacancy they can be regarded
as the "employer" and can therefore apply for a work
permit. |
| In order to obtain a work
permit for a candidate who will be working on-site , the contract
employer must demonstrate that are providing a service for which
they have project responsibility rather than simply providing
people. In order to prove this, you will need to produce a signed
copy of the contract with the client concerned. |
| Work Permits (UK) are particularly
meticulous in scrutinising applications for candidates who
will be working on client projects especially where the
work will occur at client sites. |
